Joining people with art through positive emotions

It is an initiative that started in 2017 as part of a collaboration between the International Santa Lucía Festival and the Institute of Happiness, of Universidad Tecmilenio, that seeks to blend art and people through the positive emotions experience.

A Positive Museum transforms the museum experience so visitors identify and practice positive emotions.

Workshops and guided tours

It is carried out through workshops, guided tours and activities that, in turn, allow them to generate a commitment, with themselves and others, to build a wellbeing environment.

Scientific Foundation

All experiences of a Positive Museum have a scientific foundation based on Positive Psychology science (Seligman, 2016) and the Art as Therapy approach (De Botton & Armstrong, 2017).

museos positivos

Do you want to be part of the Positive Museums course?

Design learning experiences based on the positive emotions approach, from the collections exhibited in museums, galleries or cultural spaces you collaborate with, basing on the PERMA (Seligman 2016) wellbeing model, and of Art as therapy (De Botton and Armstrong, 2017), to implement them in the on site or virtual modality.

If you are currently working in a museum or cultural center, apply to obtain a grant for 100%* (after the authorization of Tecmilenio’s Evaluation Committee).

Benefits from participating in the course:

  • Develop character strengths
  • Know the psychological functions of de Botton’s art
  • Increase the visitors’ wellbeing and happiness levels
  • Generate positive emotions
  • Design playful and multisensory activities
